Uma loses her temper and admonishes her mother. Maheshwari maliciously threatens her grandson to keep quiet about his mother's situation to his father.

Uma regains consciousness, however, she is emotionally shattered. She asks Balu to take Appu along with him. As per Maheshwari's order Deepan arrives at the hospital.

Uma is admitted in hospital after her attempt at suicide. Maheshwari who knows that Deepan is behind the Uma's predicament, confronts him.

Deepan tries to see Uma again. Appu is irritated and utters words that no mother should ever hear from her children!

Uma and colleague admonish Hema. Uma also lets Balu know that she saw Hema at the hospital.

A friend informs Uma that Balu has been helping Hema with treatments. Hema and Uma come face-to-face at the hospital.

When Latha and Balu's mom learn about Balu trying to help Hema with her daughter's treatment, they grow suspicious. Appu rebels against his mother for receiving frequent calls from Deepan.

Deepan gives Maheshwari a harsh warning. Hema begs Balu to help with her daughter's treatment.

Uma warns Deepan to leave her alone once and for all. As Deepan walks away in fury, the secrets of his past are revealed.

Dhinesh comes across Balu and a quarrel erupts when he tries to see his daughter, Sreekutty. Deepan tries to meet Uma.

Latha disapproves of Ammu's friendship with Sreekutty. Dhinesh arrives looking for Sreekutty at Hema's home.

When Maheshwari declares that Balu will not have his daughter back, he decides to have a word with Uma. The two clash over the custody of Ammu.

Balu agrees to Uma's request to allow their daughter celebrate her birthday with Uma. When Maheshwari learns that Ammu has a friendship with Hema's daughter, she demands that Uma not send her back to her father.

Balu tries to back out of Latha's plans when he realizes that she aims to make money in his name. Uma's enthusiasm to celebrate her daughter's birthday is shattered by the words of her son.

Balu assures his son that he will return to take him back. Hema tries to speak to Balu.

Uma warns Deepan to never show up in her life ever again. Deepan lets out his fury and frustration on his sister. Appu hints of a marriage between Uma and Deepan to his father.

Uma confronts her mother when the meeting with Deepan's sister and mother turns sour. Eventually,Uma realizes Deepan's true intentions.

Deepan's mother and sister plead to Maheshwari to leave Deepan alone. Maheshwari declares that she will ensure that Deepan and Uma are married.

Maheshwari admonishes Uma demanding that Appu be disciplined strictly. In the meanwhile, Maheshwari is unaware of the plans Deepan has in store for all.

Appu rebels against his grandmother, who tries to teach him obedience. Deepan who is back again, provokes the boy even more.

Balu promises his children that he will make the arrangements required for Appu and Ammu to see each other. Maheshwari decides to have a word with Uma on behalf of Deepan.

When Deepan speaks ill of Balu, a triggered Appu attacks him. Appu forces his mother to make the promise that Deepan will never enter their home again.

Appu avoids any attempts at bonding initiated by Deepan. Even Uma's attempts to pacify her son fails miserably.

Balu tries for new employment. Uma tries to pacify her son who wants his father back. Maheshwari asks Deepan to get rid of Balu once and for all.

Balu is unable to calm Ammu as she cries to see her brother and mother again. Appu also throws a tantrum to see his sister again.

Balu returns to his own home with Ammu. Appu tells to Uma that he knows that it is because of Maheshwari that his father was forced to leave the house. He also makes it clear that if his mother decides to marry Deepan, she will lose her son as well.

Balu leaves with Ammu by his side. Burning tears roll down the cheeks of little Ammu and Appu as their parents decide to split ways.

Balu and Uma enter into an intense argument over who will secure full custody of their children. Balu suggests that they split the children up. It is then decided that Ammu will live with her father.

Saraswathi requests Uma to not leave her son, Balu. Devan's decision in favour of Balu and Uma, comes as a shock for Maheshwari and Deepan.

Balu and Deepan lock horns. When Maheshwari tries to remove Balu, Uma stops her. As a result, Maheshwari and Deepan leave disappointed.

Uma's children stay away from Deepan. Watching this Maheshwari scolds them. She also openly declares her aims to unite Uma and Deepan in the presence of Latha and Balu's mother.

Maheshwari advises Uma to keep her children away from Balu's family. On the other hand, Latha tries to scare the children into staying with Balu by telling them about the cruelties of Maheshwari.

Maheshwari advises Uma to leave the children with Balu and return home. Balu's mother and sister try to meet and talk to Uma.

Uma informs Maheshwari of her decision to seperate from Balu. While, Maheshwari wonders who is helping Balu with the case.

Balu's and Uma's relationship spirals out of control. Balu tells his children that their parents will soon separate.

Uma decides to separate from Balu. To make matters worse, everyone learns of Balu's humiliating situation.

Balu is released by the police. Maheshwari ensures that Uma never forgives Balu again.

Uma leaves Balu failing to acknowledge his innocence. Maheshwari and Deepan rejoice that their scheme against Balu is successful.

Maheshwari guarantees all her support in Deepan's mission to trap Balu and destroy his reputation. Balu is arrested by the police on his way from Hema's home after dropping her off.

Hema contacts Balu when her daughter's illness grows worse. Uma, without knowing that it is Hema urges Balu to help.

Uma is ready to get married to Balu. Maheshwari commands Deepan that the marriage is to be stopped at any cost.

Uma and Balu decide to get married after a decade of living together. An obsessive Deepan confesses to his mother and sister that he will not rest unless he has Uma.

Balu's mother's request to see Balu tie the thaali with Uma touches Uma's heart. Uma doesn't realise that despite the beginning of new loving relationships with those around her, a world of pain awaits her.

Balu's and Uma's relationship becomes stronger. He takes her to visit his parent's home. Except for Swarnalatha, everybody welcomes and accepts Uma.

Balu agrees to meet Hema after strong insistence from her side. Unfortunately, Dinesh comes across their meeting and stirs up trouble.

Uma is relieved to have her relationship with her husband restored. At this time, Maheshwari and Deepan plan more ways to tear them apart.

Uma's memories take her through the days before her marriage, which was once fixed with Deepan. Balu and Uma sink back into days of love, peace and happiness.

Balu makes a promise to Uma that he will never see Hema again. As the tensions between the couple begin to ease up, Uma remembers the time in their life when their love for each other was deep and strong.

Deepan creates misunderstandings in Uma's mind over the relationship between Balu and Hema. This leads to heated arguments between them.

Deepan lies about the relationship between Hema and Balu to Hema's alcoholic husband, who in turn picks a fight with Uma.
